Data‐driven forecasting of ship motions in waves using machine learning and dynamic mode decomposition

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, EarlyView.
Summary Data‐driven forecasting of ship motions in waves is investigated through feedforward and recurrent neural networks as well as dynamic mode decomposition. The goal is to predict future ship motion variables based on past data collected on the field, using equation‐free approaches.

Random Attractors of Stochastic Three-Component Reversible Gray-Scott System on Unbounded Domains

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2012
The existence of a pullback random attractor is established for a stochastic three-component reversible Gray-Scott system on unbounded domains. The Gray-Scott system is recast as a random dynamical system and asymptotic compactness which is illustrated ...

Dynamics of discrete random Burgers-Huxley systems: attractor convergence and finite-dimensional approximations [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
In this paper, we apply the implicit Euler scheme to discretize the (random) Burgers-Huxley equation and prove the existence of a numerical attractor for the discrete Burgers-Huxley system. We establish upper semi-convergence of the numerical attractor to the global attractor as the step size tends to zero.

Approximation of attractors for multivalued random dynamical systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
The concept of global attractor for stochastic partial differential inclusions has been recently introduced as a joint generalization of the theory of random attractors for random dynamical systems and global attractors for multivalued semiflows.

Effects of Dalcroze Eurhythmics Exercise Versus Multicomponent Exercise on Physical and Cognitive Function, and Falls in Older Adults: The EPHYCOS Randomized Controlled Trial

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, EarlyView.
In this randomized clinical trial conducted among 142 community‐dwelling older adults at high risk for falls over 12 months, a Dalcroze Eurhythmics exercise intervention (once weekly, group‐based) improved a variety of physical and cognitive/executive function outcomes compared with a multicomponent exercise intervention (twice weekly, group‐ and home ...

Existence and upper semicontinuity of random attractors for stochastic p-Laplacian equations on unbounded domains

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2014
The existence of a pullback attractor is established for a stochastic p-Laplacian equation on $\mathbb{R}^n$. Furthermore, the limiting behavior of random attractors of the random dynamical systems as stochastic perturbations approach zero is studied ...

Local attractor continuation of non-autonomously perturbed systems [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2011
Using Conley theory we show that local attractors remain (past) attractors under small non-autonomous perturbations. In particular, the attractors of the perturbed systems will have positive invariant neighborhoods and converge upper semicontinuously to the original attractor.
