Geometrical error compensation of machines with significant random errors

ISA Transactions, 2005
In this paper, we present a new statistical approach towards soft geometrical error compensation of machines with significant errors. The approach, based on an analysis of the probability of the random error recurring, can reduce the adverse influence of random errors on the compensation of systematic errors.

Random Errors in Dyeing

Journal of the Society of Dyers and Colourists, 1978
The differences in colour from the target of a dyed material which are due to known weighing errors are calculated using computer match‐prediction techniques. The results, which are presented in the form of a colour map, show that the sensitivity is dependent on the target colour and the colours of the constituent dyes in the recipe.

Twenty Questions with Random Error

Foundations and Trends® in Communications and Information Theory
This fascinating monograph studies a modern version of the so called ``Twenty questions'' game. The game itself is defined between two players and starts from a player named an oracle, who privately thinks of a secret. The other player, called the questioner, tries to guess the secret by querying the oracle with at most twenty questions having Yes/No ...

Random and Systematic Errors

1985
Random errors, biases or trends of climatological means calculated from V.O.F. ship data may be induced through instrumental or observational errors, or changes in instrumental equipment and observing practices. Additionally, long period area means can be biased by uneven distribution of the basic observations (1) in the time of the day as well as of ...
