Study to compare the effect of different registration methods on patient setup uncertainties in cone-beam computed tomography during volumetric modulated arc therapy for breast cancer patients

open access: yesJournal of Medical Physics, 2018
Purpose: This study compared three different methods used in registering cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) image set with planning CT image set for determining patient setup uncertainties during volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT) for breast ...

On the overestimation of random forest's out-of-bag error. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2018
The ensemble method random forests has become a popular classification tool in bioinformatics and related fields. The out-of-bag error is an error estimation technique often used to evaluate the accuracy of a random forest and to select appropriate ...

Random error identification for MEMS gyro in coal mine underground

open access: yesGong-kuang zidonghua, 2019
Aiming at problems of unrevealing potential error source, hardly separating specific random error and long data collection time of common random error identification methods, Allan variance analysis method was used to identify random error of MEMS gyro ...

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Random Error Estimation and Propagation Analysis for Satellites’ Initial Positions

open access: yesInternational Journal of Aerospace Engineering, 2023
An increasing number of satellites are currently being launched into orbit to work in the form of clusters or constellations. However, the initial orbit position is accompanied by random errors, which will propagate during their running.

Effective therapeutic targeting of CTNNB1‐mutant hepatoblastoma with WNTinib

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
WNTinib, a Wnt/CTNNB1 inhibitor, was tested in hepatoblastoma (HB) experimental models. It delayed tumor growth and improved survival in CTNNB1‐mutant in vivo models. In organoids, WNTinib outperformed cisplatin and showed enhanced efficacy in combination therapy, supporting its potential as a targeted treatment for CTNNB1‐mutated HB.

A Method for Modeling Time Delay-Related Measurement Errors, Applicable in Power and Energy Monitoring and in Fault Detection Algorithms for Energy Grids

open access: yesEnergies
This paper presents a proposed error model for the signal errors resulting from delays in the measurement chain. The analysis focuses on the uncertainty budget of the input quantities in the digital signal-processing algorithm, examining the influence of
