Estimation of canopy structure and individual trees from laser scanning data [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
During the last fifteen years, laser scanning has emerged as a data source for forest inventory. Airborne laser scanning (ALS) provides 3D data, which may be used in an automated analysis chain to estimate vegetation properties for large areas ...

Optoelectronic Synaptic Devices Using Molecular Telluride Phase‐Change Inks for Three‐Factor Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Optoelectronic synaptic devices based on solution‐processed molecular telluride GST‐225 phase‐change inks are demonstrated for three‐factor learning. A global optical signal broadcast through a silicon waveguide induces non‐volatile conductance updates exclusively in locally electrically flagged memristors.

Reconfigurable logic gates driven by spatially designed excitation: Spectra manipulation the coupled random laser system

open access: yesAPL Photonics
All-optical logic gates offer ultra-fast speed information processing and lower power consumption that still misses the reconfigurability, remaining beset for high power consumption and large space requirements.

Microenvironmental Reprogramming by 3D Anisotropic Cardiac Extracellular Matrix Induces Nuclear Remodeling and Epigenetic Maturation of Chemically Induced Cardiomyocytes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A 3D anisotropic hydrogel derived from heart extracellular matrix guides cytoskeletal alignment and nuclear remodeling in reprogrammed cardiomyocyte‐like cells. This study reveals how matrix alignment modulates nuclear envelope dynamics and chromatin state, triggering transcriptional and functional maturation.

Receptor‐Free Identification of Toxic Gases Enabled by Hygroscopic Aqueous Salt Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Water as a gas sensor coating sounds impossible—until it stops evaporating. Here, hygroscopic salt solutions (LiCl, LiBr, H3PO4) form non‐drying aqueous films on CNT chemiresistors under ambient air. Gases partition into these liquid layers, sometimes transforming into water, and generate salt‐specific resistance fingerprints across a four‐channel ...

Effect of Low-Level Laser Therapy with Output Power of 30mW and 60mW in the Viability of a Random Skin Flap

open access: yes, 2010
Objective: To assess the effects of low-level laser therapy (LLLT) with output power of 30 and 60mW in the viability of a random skin flap in rats. Background Data: Output power values in LLLT are not well defined.
