Abstract Diagnostic classification models (DCMs) assess students’ mastery of cognitive attributes to provide personalized ability profiles. Retrofitting DCMs to large‐scale mathematics assessments usually relies on inferred Q‐matrices, which can reduce accuracy and diagnostic value.

The Evolution of Hutchinsonian Climatic Niche Hypervolumes in Gymnosperms
ABSTRACT Aim The niche is a fundamental concept in theoretical and experimental ecology and is used to describe a wide range of ecological processes from species' interactions with the environment to community assemblies. A common way to represent the niche is through a multidimensional geometry known as the Hutchinsonian niche hypervolume.

Theoretical and practical tools for validating discrete and real-time systems [PDF]
System validation has been investigated for a long time. Testing is used to find errors inside a system; in contrast, model checking is used to verify whether a given property holds in the system.

Spatial depth for data in metric spaces
Abstract We propose a novel measure of statistical depth, the metric spatial depth, for data residing in an arbitrary metric space. The measure assigns high (low) values for points located near (far away from) the bulk of the data distribution, allowing quantifying their centrality/outlyingness.
