Transport of quantum noise through random media [PDF]
We present an experimental study of the propagation of quantum noise in a multiple scattering random medium. Both static and dynamic scattering measurements are performed: the total transmission of noise is related to the mean free path for scattering ...

Effects of localization and amplification on distribution of intensity transmitted through random media [PDF]
We numerically study the statistical distribution of intensity transmitted through quasi-one dimensional random media by varying the dimensionless conductance $g$ and the amount of absorption or gain.

Surface Parameters Retrieval from Fully Bistatic Radar Scattering Data
Fully bistatic radar scattering from rough surfaces is of vital importance in terrain remote sensing, but results in bulky data volume. The scattering is dependent on physical parameters of the media and is controlled by the radar observation geometry ...

Using Random Scrambling in Multi Media Encoding [PDF]
The research deals with implementation of a new algorithm to encrypt multimedia files this method called random scrambling, to increase the security of the transmitted files, a secret key is used to prevent unauthorized persons from extracting these ...

Random walks in disordered lattice, CTRW, memory and dipole transport [PDF]
Application of CTRW (continuous time random walks) to dipole hopping transport is reviewed. Conditions of applicability of basic kinetic equations to spin systems are indicated.

Gaussian random waves in elastic media
Similar to the Berry conjecture of quantum chaos we consider elastic analogue which incorporates longitudinal and transverse elastic displacements with corresponding wave vectors.

Field and intensity correlations in amplifying random media [PDF]
We study local and nonlocal correlations of light transmitted through active random media. The conventional approach results in divergence of ensemble averaged correlation functions due to existence of lasing realizations.

Speed of light in random media [PDF]
We give a microscopic derivation of the speed of light relevant for energy transport in media containing randomly distributed scatterers. A comparison is made with the concept of ``mass enhancement'' in electron transport theory. The consequences for the Thouless criterion for strong localization are discussed.

Stiff directed lines in random media
We investigate the localization of stiff directed lines with bending energy by a short-range random potential. We apply perturbative arguments, Flory scaling arguments, a variational replica calculation, and functional renormalization to show that a ...
