Negation of permutation mass function in random permutation sets theory for uncertain information modeling

open access: yesComplex & Intelligent Systems
Negation provides a novel perspective for the representation of information. However, current research seldom addresses the issue of negation within the random permutation set theory.

Efficient sampling of random permutations

open access: yesJournal of Discrete Algorithms, 2008
We show how to uniformly distribute data at random (not to be confounded with permutation routing) in two settings that are able to deal with massive data: coarse grained parallelism and external memory. In contrast to previously known work for parallel setups, our method is able to fulfill the three criteria of uniformity, work-optimality and balance ...

The role of miR‐335‐5p in the redifferentiation of BRAF p.V600E thyroid cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The BRAF p.V600E mutation promotes thyroid cancer dedifferentiation and radioiodine resistance. Using a network approach, we identified miR‐335‐5p as a key regulator of BRAF‐mutated thyroid tumors. Restoring miR‐335‐5p increased thyroid‐specific gene expression and iodine uptake in cells and organoids.

Quantum and Classical Dynamics with Random Permutation Circuits

open access: yesPhysical Review X
Understanding thermalization in quantum many-body systems is among the most enduring problems in modern physics. A particularly interesting question concerns the role played by quantum mechanics in this process, i.e., whether thermalization in quantum ...

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Novel image encryption using significant bits of blocks of gray image with new random number generator

open access: yesDiscover Computing
Image encryption is an effective technique for protecting image content. In this paper, we introduce a novel gray image encryption algorithm that integrates PLCM, Random division of blocks, double permutation, Significant Bits manipulation, and the ...

A comparison of methods for interpreting random forest models of genetic association in the presence of non-additive interactions

open access: yesBioData Mining, 2021
Background Non-additive interactions among genes are frequently associated with a number of phenotypes, including known complex diseases such as Alzheimer’s, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease.
