Metabolic changes in immune cells direct the phenotype and function of the host immune system. Smart nanomaterials must target metabolic pathways to direct immune cell fate. This study reports the fabrication and first application of germanane quantum dots (GeHQDs) to modulate inflammation in vitro and in vivo.

The ultrahard teeth of mollusks that feed on rocky substrates contain a wear‐resistant coating on their surfaces consisting of densely packed mesocrystalline magnetic nanoparticles within an organic matrix. These coatings display significant hardness and toughness through their highly controlled mesocrystalline architectures.

In this study, the preparation techniques for silver‐based gas diffusion electrodes used for the electrochemical reduction of carbon dioxide (eCO2R) are systematically reviewed and compared with respect to their scalability. In addition, physics‐based and data‐driven modeling approaches are discussed, and a perspective is given on how modeling can aid ...

Contact Lens with Moiré Patterns for High‐Precision Eye Tracking
This work presents a passive contact lens for high‐precision eye tracking, integrating a microscopic moiré grating label. The parallax‐induced shift of macroscopic moiré patterns enables angle measurement with 0.28° precision using a standard camera under ambient light.

Charge Transport in Ternary Charge‐Transfer Solid Solution Single Crystals
This study deconvolutes the roles of indirect (superexchange) and direct electronic coupling on charge transport in single crystals of an organic charge‐transfer molecular semiconductor (OSC). This model system elegantly demonstrates that structural defects introduced by chemical dopants play a significant role in the electronic performance ...

Preconditioned Random Forest Regression
Proceedings of the 8th ACM International Conference on Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, and Health Informatics, 2017Urinary toxicity after radiotherapy (RT) limits the quality of life of prostate cancer patients, and clinically actionable prediction has yet to be achieved. We aim to exploit genome-wide variants to accurately identify patients at higher congenital toxicity risk.

Quantile Regression Random Effects
SSRN Electronic Journal, 2017This paper develops a random effects model for quantile regression (QR). We establish identification of the QR coefficients, and develop practical estimation and inference procedures. We employ a simple pooled QR estimator to estimate the coefficients of interest, and derive its statistical properties. The random effects induce cluster dependence hence

Online Rebuilding Regression Random Forests
Knowledge-Based Systems, 2021Abstract Continuous data streams mining is particularly challenging for machine learning. Many efforts have been devoted to propose online learning algorithms that can train iteratively from new coming data and provide evolutionary predictions. Compared to off-line approaches, these algorithms have shown better predictive performance and certain ...
