Optimum Design of Reinforced Cylindrical Shells Under Combined Axial Compression and Internal Pressure [PDF]
This paper discusses the use of the random search method for the optimal design of single-layered rib-reinforced cylindrical shells under combined axial compression and internal pressure with account taken of the elastic-plastic material behavior.

Random Search Hyperparameter Optimization for BPNN to Forecasting Cattle Population [PDF]
Backpropagation Neural Network (BPNN) is a suitable method for predicting the future. It has weaknesses, namely poor convergence speed and instability, requiring parameter tuning to overcome speed problems, and having a high bias.

Inverse Evaluation of Monopile Pile–Soil Interaction Parameters Using Random Search
To deal with the uncertainties in modeling offshore wind turbines, we propose a parameter inversion method for the pile–soil interaction model based on structural health monitoring results and the numerical model.

Searching for nodes in random graphs [PDF]
We consider the problem of searching for a node on a labelled random graph according to a greedy algorithm that selects a route to the desired node using metric information on the graph. Motivated by peer-to-peer networks two types of random graph are proposed with properties particularly amenable to this kind of algorithm.

Adaptive Lévy processes and area-restricted search in human foraging [PDF]
A considerable amount of research has claimed that animals’ foraging behaviors display movement lengths with power-law distributed tails, characteristic of Lévy flights and Lévy walks.

Neural Architecture Search with Random Labels [PDF]
In this paper, we investigate a new variant of neural architecture search (NAS) paradigm -- searching with random labels (RLNAS). The task sounds counter-intuitive for most existing NAS algorithms since random label provides few information on the performance of each candidate architecture.

An Optimization Framework for Wind Farm Design in Complex Terrain
Designing wind farms in complex terrain is an important task, especially for countries with a large portion of complex terrain territory. To tackle this task, an optimization framework is developed in this study, which combines the solution from a wind ...

Research on stock trend prediction method based on optimized random forest
As a complex hot problem in the financial field, stock trend forecasting uses a large amount of data and many related indicators; hence it is difficult to obtain sustainable and effective results only by relying on empirical analysis.
