In terms of system modeling, random differential equations (RDEs) with colored noise are demonstrated to be more appropriate than stochastic differential equations (SDEs) relating to white noise in most practical situations.

This brief is concerned with the time-varying formation problem for second-order networked multi-agent systems, which are subject to random communication delays and packet dropouts in the sensor-to-controller and controller-to-actuator channels of each ...

Belief Reliability for Uncertain Random Systems
IEEE transactions on fuzzy systems, 2018Measuring system reliability by a reasonable metric is a common problem in reliability engineering. Since real systems are usually uncertain random systems affected by both aleatory and epistemic uncertainties, existing reliability metrics are unreliable.

Complete wetting and critical wetting transitions are studied in d-dimensional systems with quenched random impurities and general interactions. New but more universal singular behavior is predicted: e.g., under random fields the wetting-layer thickness at complete wetting should diverge as ${\mathrm{h}}^{\mathrm{\ensuremath{-}}1/2}$ for d=3, where h ...

Large deviations and central limit theorems for sequential and random systems of intermittent maps
Ergodic Theory and Dynamical Systems, 2019We obtain large and moderate deviation estimates for both sequential and random compositions of intermittent maps. We also address the question of whether or not centering is necessary for the quenched central limit theorems obtained by Nicol, Török and ...

Entanglements in random systems
Physical Review A, 1989Topological entanglements play an important role in the physical properties, such as viscosity, of macromolecular structures. We investigate the likelihood of the appearance of entanglements in the bond percolation problem. We show that below the percolation threshold ${p}_{c}$ (but extremely close to it) there exists an entanglement threshold ${p}_{e}$

Random-field mechanism in random-bond multicritical systems
Physical Review Letters, 1989It is argued on general grounds that bond randomness drastically alters multicritical phase diagrams via a random-field mechanism. For example, tricritical points and critical end points are entirely eliminated (d\ensuremath{\le}2) or depressed in temperature (dg2). These predictions are confirmed by a renormalization-group calculation.
