This paper considers a heterogeneous queuing system with an unlimited number of servers, where the parameters are determined by a random environment. A distinctive feature is that the parameters of the exponential distribution of the request processing ...

Motor learning studies face the challenge of differentiating between real changes in performance and random measurement error. While the traditional p-value-based analyses of difference (e.g., t-tests, ANOVAs) provide information on the statistical ...

Random time change and recurrent boundary
AbstractThe purpose of this paper is to study some properties of random time changes in recurrent potential theory. In particular we show that the Martin recurrent boundary is not invariant under a random time change. We then obtain a characterization of random time change destroying a boundary point.

Does Our English Teacher Education Need Re-Designing?
Change has been regarded as inherent in any living organization for quite a long time, for its own development and to keep up its external relevance as part of the development.

Sub-diffusion in External Potential: Anomalous hiding behind Normal
We propose a model of sub-diffusion in which an external force is acting on a particle at all times not only at the moment of jump. The implication of this assumption is the dependence of the random trapping time on the force with the dramatic change of ...

The Randomized First-Hitting Problem of Continuously Time-Changed Brownian Motion [PDF]
Let X ( t ) be a continuously time-changed Brownian motion starting from a random position η , S ( t ) a given continuous, increasing boundary, with S ( 0 ) ≥ 0 , P ( η ≥ S ( 0 ) ) = 1 , and F an assigned distribution function.

Vibration response analysis of footbridge based on pedestrian perception
This article aims to study the influence of random crowd loading on the perceived vibration response of pedestrians. Firstly, a vertical vibration response analysis method considering pedestrian perception was established based on the random crowd ...
