D-Optimal Design for a Causal Structure for Completely Randomized and Random Blocked Experiments

open access: yesJournal of Probability and Statistics, 2022
Most experimental design literature on causal inference focuses on establishing a causal relationship between variables, but there is no literature on how to identify a design that results in the optimal parameter estimates for a structural equation model (SEM).

Did belowground N transfer in mixed plantations of Acacia mangium and Eucalyptus meet the Stress Gradient Hypothesis? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Belowground interactions in mixed forest plantations remain poorly understood as that of short-tenn nitrogen (N) transfer from N-fixing trees to non-N-fixing trees (Non-NFT) depending on nutrient availability. We investigated in this facilitation process

PARP inhibition and pharmacological ascorbate demonstrate synergy in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.

Response of Sunflower Yield and Phytohormonal Changes to Azotobacter,Azospirillum,Pseudomonas and Animal Manure in a Chemical Free Agroecosystem [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
There are new trends in agriculture to move toward the low input systems with the lower application of chemical fertilizers. To reach this goal, different methods, such as the application of biofertilizers, may be used.

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Investigation on the Grain Yield Stability of Promising Cold Region Bread Wheat Cultivars and Lines by Using Different Stability Statistics [PDF]

open access: yesIkufīziyuluzhī-i Giyāhān-i Zirā̒ī, 2015
This study was conducted to determine the yield stability of 10 cold region bread wheat genotypes, using a randomized complete block design with 3 replications for 4 years (2009-2013) at the Agricultural and Natural Resources Research Center of East ...
