Evaluating search and matching models using experimental data [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
This paper introduces an innovative test of search and matching models using the exogenous variation available in experimental data. We take an off-the-shelf Pissarides matching model and calibrate it to data on the control group from a randomized social

Investigating the cell of origin and novel molecular targets in Merkel cell carcinoma: a historic misnomer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study indicates that Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) does not originate from Merkel cells, and identifies gene, protein & cellular expression of immune‐linked and neuroendocrine markers in primary and metastatic Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) tumor samples, linked to Merkel cell polyomavirus (MCPyV) status, with enrichment of B‐cell and other immune cell

Integrated genomic and proteomic profiling reveals insights into chemoradiation resistance in cervical cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A comprehensive genomic and proteomic analysis of cervical cancer revealed STK11 and STX3 as a potential biomarkers of chemoradiation resistance. Our study demonstrated EGFR as a therapeutic target, paving the way for precision strategies to overcome treatment failure and the DNA repair pathway as a critical mechanism of resistance.

Artificial Autotetraploidy Induction Possibility of Two Iranian Endemic Mint (<i>Mentha mozaffarianii</i>) Ecotypes

open access: yesNotulae Scientia Biologicae, 2014
The present study was conducted to polyploidy possibility induction of two Iranian endemic mint (Mentha mozaffarianii) ecotypes. For this purpose, three experiments were done. The first experiment was factorial, based on completely randomized design with

Vacancy referrals, job search and the duration of unemployment: a randomized experiment [PDF]

open access: yes
One goal of the public employment service is to facilitate matching between unemployed job seekers and job vacancies; another goal is to monitor job search so as to bring search efforts among the unemployed in line with search requirements.

Comment expliquer le succès de la méthode des expérimentations aléatoires ? Une sociographie du J-PAL

open access: yesSociologies, 2018
Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) have been successful for ten years. This article aims to explore the reasons of such success, using original means. The way the J-PAL (which the main laboratory in the field) works explains the spread of the method.

Conditions to Consider in the Use of Randomized Experimental Designs in Evaluation

open access: yesJournal of MultiDisciplinary Evaluation, 2022
Debates about the role of randomized experiments in evaluation have been heated at times, which likely has not facilitated and possibly has hindered thoughtful judgments about whether and when to use a randomized experimental design.
