Prognosis of Long‐Term Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy and the Impact of Combined Continuous Intravenous Sodium Infusion Therapy

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Patients requiring long‐term continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) generally have poor prognoses. This study evaluated whether adding continuous intravenous sodium infusion (cIVNa) is associated with improved hemodynamics and outcomes in patients undergoing long‐term CRRT for ≥ 7 days.

The Constrained Laplacian Rank Algorithm for Graph-Based Clustering

open access: yesAAAI Conference on Artificial Intelligence, 2016
Graph-based clustering methods perform clustering on a fixed input data graph. If this initial construction is of low quality then the resulting clustering may also be of low quality.

Organoids in pediatric cancer research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Organoid technology has revolutionized cancer research, yet its application in pediatric oncology remains limited. Recent advances have enabled the development of pediatric tumor organoids, offering new insights into disease biology, treatment response, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment.

On rank correlation and the distance between rankings [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the 32nd international ACM SIGIR conference on Research and development in information retrieval, 2009
Rank correlation statistics are useful for determining whether a there is a correspondence between two measurements, particularly when the measures themselves are of less interest than their relative ordering. Kendall's - in particular has found use in Information Retrieval as a "meta-evaluation" measure: it has been used to compare evaluation measures,

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Local and global rank tests for multivariate varying-coefficient models [PDF]

open access: yes
In a multivariate varying-coefficient model, the response vectors Y are regressed on known functions u(X) of some explanatory variables X and the coefficients in an unknown regression matrix q(Z) depend on another set of explanatory variables Z.

Metrics to Rank Illegal Buildings

open access: yes, 2019
The problem of illegal buildings (IBs) is becoming dramatic in developing countries due to the population explosion, but, at the same time, it is still an unsolved issue also in several states usually called advanced (e.g., Italy).

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Significant Economical and Ecological Benefits by Continuous Process Improvement in an Industrial Vitamin Synthesis Process

open access: yesCHIMIA, 2000
A large number of today's technical vitamin bulk synthesis processes are performed in single product facilities. Some of them rely on chemistry and technology which has been in place for decades.

The Evolution of the Largest Central and Eastern European Companies in the Period 2015-2017 [PDF]

open access: yesOvidius University Annals: Economic Sciences Series, 2018
Worldwide, there is a constant pursuit to develop particular regions, either strategic or following old economic power poles. Such an environment is based on mutual aid and exchange that increases the likeliness of an economic power conglomerate to ...
