Examining University Ranking Metrics
Proceedings of the 2018 International Conference on Computing and Big Data, 2018Universities pay serious attention to a wide variety of rankings in comparison with other national or international universities. Such ranking is used for peer comparisons, funds' acquisition and distribution, hiring, recruiting, and more. Several organizations or websites evaluate and publish those rankings yearly.

We give an infinite family of maximum rank distance (MRD) codes, which covers properly the largest known linear MRD code family. Our family contains infinite families of non-linear MRD codes, which are the first non-linear examples for most of the parameters.

Centres of Rank-Metric Completions
Canadian Journal of Mathematics, 1985In this paper, we are primarily concerned with the behaviour of the centre with respect to the completion process for von Neumann regular rings at the pseudo-metric topology induced by a pseudo-rank function.Let R be a (von Neumann) regular ring, and N a pseudo-rank function (all terms left undefined here may be found in [6]).

Single-Case Metric Ranking Tool
2020This Single-Case Metric Ranking Tool aims to help users select appropriate single-case metrics to use with their data. This tool also aims to help users justify their use of single-case metrics, by providing the user with information, resources, etc. for the single-case metrics.

This paper investigates coding for crisscross errors in the term-rank metric. The term-rank of a matrix equals to minimal number of row and columns that collectively contain all of non zero elements of the matrix. We consider data stored in arrays (matrices) over finite fields. Crisscross errors occur e.g.

Rank metric convolutional codes
2016In this contribution, we propose a first general definition of rank-metric convolutional codes for multi-shot network coding. To this aim, we introduce a suitable concept of distance and we establish a generalized Singleton bound for this class of codes.

Low-Rank Online Metric Learning
2014Image classification is a key problem in computer vision community. Most of the conventional visual recognition systems usually train an image classifier in an offline batch mode with all training data provided in advance. Unfortunately in many practical applications, usually only a small amount of training samples are available in the initialization ...
