Collaborative Rankings

open access: yesFundamenta Informaticae, 2018
In this paper we introduce a new ranking algorithm, called Collaborative Judgement (CJ), that takes into account peer opinions of agents and/or humans on objects (e.g. products, exams, papers) as well as peer judgements over those opinions. The combination of these two types of information has not been studied in previous work in order to produce ...

Closing Ranks

open access: yesAl-'Usur al-Wusta, 2022
Soon after his arrival as newly appointed governor of Iraq, al-Ḥajjāj (d. 95/714) faced a standoff with a prominent member of the Baṣran garrison, Ibn al-Jārūd al-ʿAbdī (d. 76/695). In this article, I track the course of this rebellion as an example of a political system that, lacking a hegemonic system of coercion and control, was rather characterized

Inhibiting stearoyl‐CoA desaturase suppresses bone metastatic prostate cancer by modulating cellular stress, mTOR signaling, and DNA damage response

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Bone metastasis in prostate cancer (PCa) patients is a clinical hurdle due to the poor understanding of the supportive bone microenvironment. Here, we identify stearoyl‐CoA desaturase (SCD) as a tumor‐promoting enzyme and potential therapeutic target in bone metastatic PCa.

Identification and evaluation of the critical success factors for construction projects in Lithuania: AHP approach

open access: yesJournal of Civil Engineering and Management, 2014
This paper proposes the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) as a tool to rank different critical success factors (CSFs) for construction projects in Lithuania. Considering the current lack of understanding of CSFs within the local context, this study is one

Ranking the best instances [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
We formulate the local ranking problem in the framework of bipartite ranking where the goal is to focus on the best instances. We propose a methodology based on the construction of real-valued scoring functions.

Structured Learning of Two-Level Dynamic Rankings

open access: yes, 2011
For ambiguous queries, conventional retrieval systems are bound by two conflicting goals. On the one hand, they should diversify and strive to present results for as many query intents as possible.

Rank Regression

open access: yesThe Annals of Statistics, 1988
An estimation procedure for (b,g) is developed for the transformation model \(g(Y)=bz+error\), where g is an unspecified strictly increasing function. The estimator for b can be viewed as a hybrid between an M- estimator and an R-estimator. It differs from an M-estimator in that the dependent variable is replaced by a score based on ranks and from an R-

Rank 𝑟 DT theory from rank 1

open access: yesJournal of the American Mathematical Society, 2022
Fix a Calabi-Yau 3-fold X X satisfying the Bogomolov-Gieseker conjecture of Bayer-Macrì-Toda, such as the quintic 3-fold. We express Joyce’s generalised DT invariants counting Gieseker semistable sheaves of any rank r r on X X in terms of those counting sheaves of rank 1.

Characterizing the salivary RNA landscape to identify potential diagnostic, prognostic, and follow‐up biomarkers for breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study explores salivary RNA for breast cancer (BC) diagnosis, prognosis, and follow‐up. High‐throughput RNA sequencing identified distinct salivary RNA signatures, including novel transcripts, that differentiate BC from healthy controls, characterize histological and molecular subtypes, and indicate lymph node involvement.
