RankEval: Evaluation and investigation of ranking models

open access: yesSoftwareX, 2020
RankEval is a Python open-source tool for the analysis and evaluation of ranking models based on ensembles of decision trees. Learning-to-Rank (LtR) approaches that generate tree-ensembles are considered the most effective solution for difficult ranking ...

Multi‐omic profiling of squamous cell lung cancer identifies metabolites and related genes associated with squamous cell carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using multi‐omic characterization, we aimed to identify key regulators specific to squamous cell lung carcinoma (SqCC). SqCC‐specific differentially expressed genes were integrated with metabolics data. High expression of the creatine transporter SLC6A8, along with elevated creatine levels, appeared to be a distinct metabolic feature of SqCC.

Efficient AUC Optimization for Information Ranking Applications

open access: yes, 2016
Adequate evaluation of an information retrieval system to estimate future performance is a crucial task. Area under the ROC curve (AUC) is widely used to evaluate the generalization of a retrieval system. However, the objective function optimized in many

Characterization of the thermophilic xylanase Fsa02490Xyn from the hyperthermophile Fervidibacter sacchari belonging to glycoside hydrolase family 10

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Fervidibacter sacchari is a member of the bacterial phylum Armatimonadota, only a few of which have been cultivated. It is a hyperthermophilic polysaccharide degradation specialist. We show that a secreted enzyme, Fsa02490Xyn, is an endoxylanase belonging to glycoside hydrolase family 10.

Design Patterns for Fusion-Based Object Retrieval

open access: yes, 2017
We address the task of ranking objects (such as people, blogs, or verticals) that, unlike documents, do not have direct term-based representations. To be able to match them against keyword queries, evidence needs to be amassed from documents that are ...

The Performance of Boolean Retrieval and Vector Space Model in Textual Information Retrieval

open access: yesCommIT Journal, 2017
Boolean Retrieval (BR) and Vector Space Model (VSM) are very popular methods in information retrieval for creating an inverted index and querying terms. BR method searches the exact results of the textual information retrieval without ranking the results.

Characterization of WAC interactions with R2TP and TTT chaperone complexes linking glucose and glutamine availability to mTORC1 activity

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
TTT and R2TP chaperone complexes are required for the assembly and activation of mTORC1. WAC directly interacts with components of TTT, R2TP, and mTORC1, and these interactions are affected by the availability of glucose and glutamine, correlating with changes in mTORC1 activity.
