Rapid region analysis for classification
The authors describe and evaluate a method that detects ridges (symmetric axes) in an Euclidean distance map. The method detects ridge‐pixels with a local‐maxima search using only relational operations and has therefore minimal complexity. The resulting ridges exhibit a height profile that is suitable for region abstraction by means of simple ...

ABSTRACT Pediatric gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (GEP‐NENs) are extremely rare and clinically heterogeneous. Management has largely been extrapolated from adult practice. This European Standard Clinical Practice Guideline (ESCP), developed by the EXPeRT network in collaboration with adult NEN experts, provides (adult) evidence ...

ABSTRACT Background Cerebellar ataxia after pediatric brain tumor treatment can cause persistent gait, balance, and speech impairment, yet no established rehabilitation strategy exists. Somato‐cognitive coordination therapy (SCCT) is a virtual reality–guided intervention designed to promote sensorimotor integration through visually constrained reaching

ABSTRACT Background Type 1 plasminogen deficiency (PLGD‐1) is an ultra‐rare autosomal recessive disorder caused by variants in the PLG gene and affects approximately 1.6 individuals per million. The condition is characterized by decreased plasminogen levels and impaired function, resulting in fibrin‐rich lesions on mucous membranes throughout the body.

In Situ Formation of Quantum Dots as a Novel Fluorescence Probe for Phosphate Anion Detection
A new fluorescence detection method for PO43− was developed through the in situ synthesis of cadmium sulfide quantum dots (CdS QDs). Without PO43−, the CdS QDs could not be effectively formed by only the S2− and Cd2+ in the solution.

Rapid spectral analysis for spectral imaging [PDF]
Spectral imaging requires rapid analysis of spectra associated with each pixel. A rapid algorithm has been developed that uses iterative matrix inversions to solve for the absorption spectra of a tissue using a lookup table for photon pathlength based on numerical simulations.
