Filling Velocity Changes at Tip Transfer on Rapier Looms: A Simple Analysis
Textile Research Journal, 1996In rapier filling insertion by tip-transfer between two half-width rapiers, the filling clamps may be operated either positively or negatively at transfer. The trajectories of the transfer point on the giver and the clamping point on the taker rapier are observed for both cases.

Numerical simulation model for optimisation of weft insertion on projectile and rapier looms
Mechatronics, 1995Abstract A high weft insertion rate in a weaving loom can cause yam breakage and a non-uniform tension in the weft yarn at shed closure. A numerical simulation model is proposed that is able to calculate the tension profile in the weft yarn during insertion.
