Design and Fabrication of Smart Diapers with Antibacterial Yarn. [PDF]

open access: yesJ Healthc Eng, 2017
In this study, intelligent eco‐diapers are made by combining antibacterial yarns coated with quaternary ammonium salts with conductive yarns to improve caretaking for urinary incontinence. The combination of conductive yarns and sensors can detect the moisture content in eco‐diapers, and an alarm is sent when moisture is significant.

Reconfigurable Parfocal Zoom Metalens

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, Volume 10, Issue 17, September 5, 2022., 2022
This work presents a solid‐state zoom lens design based on multi‐functional optical metasurfaces which achieves large step zoom ratios, minimal distortion, and diffraction‐limited optical quality without requiring mechanical moving parts. Two embodiments of the concept are experimentally demonstrated based on polarization‐multiplexing in the visible ...

Design and implementation of a small AODF

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, Volume 2020, Issue 2, Page 73-78, February 2020., 2020
Cross‐connection is the only point in the communications field that has not been automated. With the many fibre networks that have been built, there is strong demand from operators for an automatic optical distribution frame (AODF) to reduce operational costs and provide high‐level services. From the twisting relationships between the fibre patch cords

Servo-controlled Weft Yarn Inserting Mechanism for Rapier Loom.

open access: yesSen'i Kikai Gakkaishi (Journal of the Textile Machinery Society of Japan), 1998
For a rapier designed to control the yarn inserting motion from the start of the motion to its end, a servo-controlled weft yarn inserting mechanism designed to allow the weft yarn inserting motion characteristics to be changed was developed to study experimentally the effects of the weft yarn motion characteristics on the weft yarn tension. In the ...
