Response of migrating raptors to an increasing number of wind farms
1. Flying birds have been documented to respond in different ways to the presence of wind farms. Such responses are speciesand site-specific, with wind farm design playing an important role.

Thermal performance curves, activity and survival in a free‐ranging ectotherm
We show higher field‐measured locomotor performance increases mortality risk in free‐ranging lizards, challenging assumptions from laboratory‐based thermal performance studies. Our approach combines in situ physiology with survival data, offering new insights into behavioural trade‐offs and fitness under natural conditions.

Monitoring population extinction risk with community science data
Our modelling framework provides a robust, computationally efficient and easy‐to‐apply tool for monitoring local persistence probability that can support global conservation efforts. This will complement the monitoring of species population viability in places where standardized monitoring is still lacking, but community science observations are common.

Contribution of organic farming to conserving and improving biodiversity in Germany avi-fauna as an example [PDF]
Although it is the aim of organic farming to increase biodiversity, there is little information about the impact of organic farming on birds. From 2001 to 2003, the number of breeding birds was recorded annually on the organic experimental farm of the ...

Our study demonstrates that field margins can play a major role in maintaining connectivity and enhancing ecological corridor functionality in intensive agricultural landscapes, even for habitat generalist species like the bulbul. The use of high‐resolution movement data enabled fine‐scale habitat analysis, revealing the key role of these vegetative ...

Foraging under Predation Risk: A test of giving-up densities with samango monkeys in South Africa [PDF]
Animals frequently make a trade-off between food and safety and will sacrifice feeding effort if it means safety from predators. A forager can also vary its vigilance levels to manage predation risk.
