Bone marrow involvement in Whipple's disease: rarely reported, but really rare? [PDF]

Infection with Tropheryma whippelii, the causative agent of Whipple's disease, involves nearly every organ. Involvement of bone marrow may be an overlooked area of Whipple's disease. We report a case of lymphoma‐like Whipple's disease with bone marrow involvement together with a brief review of the literature on this topic.

Cell‐cycle‐specific lesion evolution rather than inhibition of double‐strand‐break repair underpins cisplatin radiosensitization

We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. Pathogenic Neurofibromatosis type 1 gene variants in tumors of non‐NF1 patients and role of R1276

Somatic variants of the neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) gene occur across neoplasms without clinical manifestation of the disease NF1. We identified emerging somatic pathogenic NF1 variants and hotspots, for example, at the arginine finger 1276.
