Rarefied Intake Flow in an Atmospheric-Breathing VLEO Hall Thruster
Atmosphere-breathing Hall thrusters (ABHTs) have emerged as a promising propulsion technology for very low Earth orbit (VLEO) satellites because they can utilize residual atmospheric particles as propellant, reducing the need for onboard propellant ...

The cell‐autonomous roles of interferon type 1 vary based on duration and intensity. While acute, robust signaling results in cancer cell cytotoxic effects, sustained, low‐level signaling is associated with tumor‐promoting effects. This review summarizes current research of IFN‐1 in cancer and within the clinical setting, with an emphasis on female ...

Systemic dysregulation of apolipoproteins in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis serum
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a fatal disease that damages motor neurons. This study found that people with ALS show significant changes in blood fats and the proteins that carry them. Several apolipoproteins were higher, lipid balances were altered, and normal protein–lipid relationships were disrupted.

Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

Hypersonic flow around a sphere with CLL model of incomplete energy accommodation [PDF]
Hypersonic rarefied flow of nitrogen over a sphere is simulated by the Direct Simulation Monte Carlo (DSMC) calculations to study the drag coefficient under Lord's diffuse scattering model with incomplete energy accommodation.

Vortex-Induced Micro-Cantilever Vibrations with Small and Large Amplitudes in Rarefied Gas Flow
This study employs a fully coupled fluid–structure interaction (FSI) to investigate the vibrations of an elastic micro-cantilever induced by a rarefied gas flow.

Chemotherapy side effects significantly impact cancer survivors' quality of life. Using protein levels in blood samples from breast cancer patients before and after 12 weeks of taxane treatment, we detected treatment‐dependent changes in calcium signaling and aging pathways associated with cancer recurrence.
