The correlations of space weather and satellite anomalies: RASAT

2013 6th International Conference on Recent Advances in Space Technologies (RAST), 2013
The main focus of this work is to review documented operational anomalies for Turkish Remote Sensing Satellite of RASAT, by assessing the identification and estimation of potential source of space weather agents. A statistical evaluation and correlation analysis were made using the log files from the launching up to date for RASAT.

Space environment and evaluation for RASAT

Proceedings of 5th International Conference on Recent Advances in Space Technologies - RAST2011, 2011
The space environment is a set of surrounding composed of energetic particle radiation, micrometeoroids and space debris. The quantity of each element is defined by external physical world for a given launch time, altitude and duration of a specific mission. Proper evaluation is the key to verify best performance, problem avoidance and survivability of

Performance analysis of pansharpening algorithms for RASAT images

2017 25th Signal Processing and Communications Applications Conference (SIU), 2017
Pansharpening approaches provide high performance for many image processing applications by combining the spectral information in multispectral or hyperspectral data with the high spatial resolution in PAN images. For this reason, there is a large number of approaches developed for pansharpening up until today.

Power subsystem of RASAT flight model

Proceedings of 5th International Conference on Recent Advances in Space Technologies - RAST2011, 2011
The purpose of a power subsystem is to ensure reliable delivery of electrical power compatible with all loads under all foreseeable operational states and environments, during all mission phases, and over the intended design life of the loads and of the space vehicle and the power subsystem is unarguably the most critical subsystem on a satellite ...

Attitude performance requirements and budgeting for RASAT satellite

Proceedings of 5th International Conference on Recent Advances in Space Technologies - RAST2011, 2011
Pointing error budget calculations are considered for RASAT satellite. RASAT is designed to point its payload, an optical camera, in a desired direction within specified limits and maintain this direction via attitude determination and control. These limits are decided by attitude performance requirements, which are dependent upon top-level pointing ...

Rasat Leo Satellite Power System Design and Operation

2007 3rd International Conference on Recent Advances in Space Technologies, 2007
This paper presents the power system design and operation of RASAT micro satellite. The design of the power system reflects the need for autonomous operation, independent of all other systems, and therefore should require no intervention from the ground station in the event of an anomaly arising on the spacecraft.

Integration and Testing of Optical Imaging System for RASAT

2007 3rd International Conference on Recent Advances in Space Technologies, 2007
An advanced imaging system, the optical imaging system (OIS) is being developed for a small Earth observation satellite, RASAT. OIS will produce high-resolution images in panchromatic and multi-spectral bands and it consists of one optical and one electronics units. Recently, we have completed the development of the OIS engineering/qualification model (

Airport detection by combining geometric and texture features on RASAT satellite images

2017 25th Signal Processing and Communications Applications Conference (SIU), 2017
In this study, a simple and efficient airport detection method is presented. The method is performed uses both the geometric and texture features. The method that use RASAT satellite images is carried out in two stages as coarse and fine stage. In the first stage, line segments are detected with line segment detector (LSD) and the short length of lines
