RASAT, a model for the estimation of commodity trade flows in EFTA

Abstract The RAS method of updating a trade flow matrix is extended into the third dimension of commodity trade. The model is used to update the 1959 trade flows to 1965 for the EFTA countries. Measures are then derived to estimate trade diversion within EFTA.
