The Rasch Model and Multistage Testing
Journal of Educational Statistics, 1988This paper concerns the problem of estimating the item parameters of latent trait models in a multistage testing design. It is shown that using the Rasch model and conditional maximum likelihood estimates does not lead to solvable estimation equations.

Publisher Summary This chapter begins with the history of the Rasch models (RM) and also discusses some basic concepts and properties of the RM. According to Georg Rasch, the RM should have the following property: a nontrivial likelihood function should exist, which is a function of the item parameters but is independent of the person parameters, and

Wie schon in 1.6 erwahnt verwendet das Rasch-Modell die logistische Funktion als Item-Response-Funktion ϕ (Rasch 1961: 117ff, Andersen 1973: 33, 1973a: 123, 1973b, Birnbaum in Lord, Novick 1968: 402 u.a.) – siehe 2.3.

Polytomous Rasch Models and their Estimation [PDF]
In this chapter, the polytomous Rasch model is introduced, based on the original formulation by Georg Rasch in the 1960 Berkeley Symposium on Mathematical Statistics and Probability. The various versions of the basic model, suggested in the literature, are briefly mentioned and compared.

Japanese Language Learning and the Rasch Model
2005This study attempted to evaluate outcome of foreign language teaching by measuring the reading and writing proficiency achieved by students studying Japanese as a second language in six different year levels from year 8 to the first of university in the classroom setting. In order to measure linguistic gains across six years, it was necessary, firstly,

A Rasch Model for Continuous Ratings
Psychometrika, 1987A unidimensional latent trait model for continuous ratings is developed. This model is an extension of Andrich's rating formulation which assumes that the response process at latent thresholds is governed by the dichotomous Rasch model. Item characteristic functions and information functions are used to illustrate that the model takes ceiling and floor
