Cost-effective non-additive GWAS across 2329 diseases in 500,349 individuals
Drug candidates supported by genetic evidence are more likely to succeed in clinical trials, with genome-wide association studies (GWAS) providing a key source of such evidence. Standard GWAS approaches assume additive effects of alleles on the phenotype,

Classification of Fog Life‐Cycle Phases Using Ground‐Based and Satellite‐Based Observations
In this study, the life‐cycle phases of radiation fog events—formation, maturity, and dissipation—are automatically classified at a ground station in Southwest Germany based on visibility trends and thresholds. We demonstrate that visibility detects radiation fog phases effectively, while its combination with ceilometer data can detect the life‐cycle ...

Covariance of the intertropical discontinuity and African easterly jet in Sahelian wet and dry years
Intertropical discontinuity and African easterly jet (AEJ) positions are strongly correlated, with a more pronounced linear relationship across wet years. Surface heat flux anomalies modify low‐level temperature and sensible heat flux gradients that shift the AEJ core south of the gradient maxima in both composites.

Abstract Research Summary This study draws on the behavioral theory of the firm and a duality perspective to investigate the impact of founders' focus on academic goals on the financial performance of academic spin‐offs (ASOs)—a specific type of hybrid venture. We theorize that such relationship follows an inverse U‐shaped curve and is moderated by the

Abstract Research Summary This study examines how academic entrepreneurs refine business ideas in response to external critique and how these responses relate to performance. We develop a framework that links feedback (critique), business‐idea changes (pivots), and performance, and test it using detailed data on external stakeholder feedback, changes ...

Incremental upper bound modeling of concrete failures in timber‐concrete notched connections
Abstract This paper introduces a novel theoretical framework for developing incremental upper bound solutions, which is applied to predict the response of two local concrete failures in timber‐concrete composite (TCC) decks with notched connections. The new approach enables a prediction of the capacity at the onset of failure as well as the entire post‐

This article surveys the social experiences of autistic people, who are commonly known for having a strained relationship with interactions face to face. By interpretively reviewing and synthesizing the broader literature on “autistic sociality,” the article provides a nuanced ...
