EGL on the Raspberry Pi

2016
EGL provides a base for graphics programming, common to many systems such as OpenCL, OpenGL, OpenGL ES, and OpenVG. It is system neutral and for the RPi is the layer above Dispmanx.

JavaFX on the Raspberry Pi

2014
The Internet of things (IoT) has become a hot topic of late, and for good reason. Some estimates put the number of connected small devices somewhere around 9 billion currently, jumping to 24 billion devices by 2020. And while projections vary, the assessment really doesn’t: in terms of sheer numbers, the Internet of things is going to dwarf any ...

Dispmanx on the Raspberry Pi

2016
Dispmanx is the lowest level of programming for the RPi’s GPU. I don’t go very deeply into it in this chapter, but you’ll learn enough to get a native window for use by other toolkits.

RASPBERRY PI

2015

Introducing the Raspberry Pi

2014
So, you’ve got yourself a Raspberry Pi mini-computer and are thinking to yourself: “Now what?” Maybe it was a gift. Maybe you’d heard about this “Raspberry Pie thingamabob” and decided to find out what all of the ruckus was about. Perhaps you’re already experienced with computers, but not with Linux or Python. Maybe you’re a Linux geek who’s never made

Der Raspberry Pi

2014

Introduction to the Raspberry Pi

2016
The Raspberry Pi (RPi) is a low-cost Linux computer developed with the intention of improving the background of students entering university computer science courses by giving them a good, cheap environment in which to play. And it does! In fact, I’ve got a bunch of colleagues at work, well into middle age, who have leapt upon it to play with.

Raspberry Pi and Arduino

2018
In Chapter 4, we used the GPIO pins on the Raspberry Pi to interact with an LED and an ultrasonic sensor. Many times, this is enough to do what you want to do. However, I also discussed some of the shortcomings of the Raspberry Pi GPIO and the likely need to expand the capabilities of the Pi in order to overcome these shortcomings.
