Ratcheting fatigue behaviour of advanced structural materials at their service temperatures [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Reports
Ratcheting fatigue behavior is a critical phenomenon in structural materials undergoing cyclic loading, particularly when combined with nonzero mean stress or multiaxial stress states.

Excellent Wear Resistance of a High-Speed Train Brake Disc Steel with High Hardening Ratcheting Strain Zone

open access: yesMetals, 2021
Wear resistance of brake discs has a significant effect on the safety of high-speed trains. In this work, the rolling–sliding wear resistance of a low-carbon martensitic brake disc steel was investigated.

Strain Hardening of 316FR Steel in Strain-Controlled Ratchetting Deformation.

open access: yesTRANSACTIONS OF THE JAPAN SOCIETY OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERS Series A, 1997
This paper is concerned with the strain hardening of 316FR steel subjected to strain-controlled ratchetting deformation, i.e., cyclic straining with maximal strain increasing at every cycle. First. by discussing isothermal and nonisothermal experiments in this type of deformation, it is shown that the isothermal stress versus strain hysteresis loops ...

Compressive fatigue behavior of graded tantalum scaffolds produced by electron beam powder bed fusion

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology, 2023
In this study, graded tantalum scaffolds were manufactured by electron beam powder bed fusion (EB-PBF). Compression-compression fatigue testing was conducted on the EB-PBF built graded tantalum scaffolds.

Force‐Induced Control of Circularly Polarized Luminescence With Rotaxane Architecture

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Force‐induced reversible on/off switching of circularly polarized luminescence is achieved with a rotaxane‐based supramolecular mechanophore. The mechanophore, featuring a chiral helicene luminophore, is incorporated as a first network cross‐linker into a double‐network organogel.
