Rates of Convergence for the Functional LIL

open access: yesThe Annals of Probability, 1989
Let \(X,X_ 1,X_ 2,..\). be i.i.d. random variables such that E X\(=0\), E \(X^ 2=1\). Let S(t), \(t\geq 0\), be the polygonal process. The rate of convergence of the random sequence \[ \{S(n(\cdot))/(2n LL n)^{1/2},\quad n\geq 1\} \] to a compact convex symmetric subset of C[0,1] is obtained.

Adaptive Minimum Bit Error Rate Beamforming

open access: yes, 2005
An adaptive beamforming technique is proposed based on directly minimizing the bit error rate. It is demonstrated that this minimum bit error rate (MBER) approach utilizes the antenna array elements more intelligently, than the standard minimum mean ...

European Standard Clinical Practice Guideline and EXPeRT Recommendations for the Diagnosis and Management of Gastroenteropancreatic Neuroendocrine Neoplasms in Children and Adolescents

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Pediatric gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (GEP‐NENs) are extremely rare and clinically heterogeneous. Management has largely been extrapolated from adult practice. This European Standard Clinical Practice Guideline (ESCP), developed by the EXPeRT network in collaboration with adult NEN experts, provides (adult) evidence ...

RESTING HEART RATE IN CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASE

open access: yes, 2007
The importance of resting heart rate (HR) as a prognostic factor and potential therapeutic target is not yet generally accepted. Recent large epidemiologic studies have confirmed earlier studies that showed resting HR to be an independent predictor of ...

Health‐Related Quality of Life and Symptom Severity Among Patients With PIK3CA‐Related Overgrowth Spectrum: A Mixed‐Methods Study to Understand Real‐World Experience With Alpelisib Treatment

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background PIK3CA‐related overgrowth spectrum (PROS) includes several rare overgrowth disorders resulting from somatic gain‐of‐function mutations in PIK3CA. Despite treatment advances, including the recent approval of alpelisib for PROS in the United States, literature detailing the patient experience with PROS is limited.

Functional ratings in sports [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Quantitative Analysis in Sports, 2020
Abstract In this paper, we present a new model for ranking sports teams. Our model uses all scoring data from all games to produce a functional rating by the method of least squares. The functional rating can be interpreted as a team average point differential adjusted for strength of schedule.

Clinical and Biological Features of Response in Resistant Neuroblastoma to 131I‐Metaiodobenzylguanidine Radiotherapy in the Anti‐GD2 Immunotherapy Era

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background 131I‐metaiodobenzylguanidine (131I‐MIBG) radiotherapy is a key treatment for relapsed and refractory (R/R) neuroblastoma (NB). Patients with R/R disease treated in the modern era are increasingly exposed to anti‐GD2 immunotherapy, which exerts selective pressure and may modify both tumor cell state and microenvironment.

Topological classification of dynamical quantum phase transitions in the 1D XY model via critical mode analysis

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics
Dynamical quantum phase transitions (DQPTs), which serve as a theoretical framework for understanding far-from-equilibrium physics in quantum many-body systems, have recently been observed experimentally.

On the Reliability Function of Variable-Rate Slepian-Wolf Coding

open access: yesEntropy, 2017
The reliability function of variable-rate Slepian-Wolf coding is linked to the reliability function of channel coding with constant composition codes, through which computable lower and upper bounds are derived.
