The Thin-Wall Approximation in Vacuum Decay: a Lemma
The 'thin-wall approximation' gives a simple estimate of the decay rate of an unstable quantum field. Unfortunately, the approximation is uncontrolled.

On the convergence rates of Legendre approximation [PDF]
Expansions of suitable univariate functions in infinite or truncated series of Legendre polynomials are considered in this article. Under analyticity conditions or conditions on the continuity of the approximand and its derivatives, upper bounds on the coefficients in these series are established.

On the rate of convergence of Baskakov-Kantorovich-Bézier operators for bounded variation functions
In the present paper we introduce Baskakov-Kantorovich-Bézier operators and study their rate of convergence for functions of bounded variation.

Polarization of the electron and positron produced in combined Coulomb and strong laser fields
The process of $e^+e^-$ production in the superposition of a Coulomb and a strong laser field is considered. The pair production rate integrated over the momentum and summed over the spin projections of one of the particles is derived exactly in the ...

ABSTRACT Introduction Cognitive impairment and exercise intolerance are common in dialysis patients. Cerebral perfusion and oxygenation play a major role in both cognitive function and exercise execution; HD session per se aggravates cerebral ischemia in this population. This study aimed to compare cerebral oxygenation and perfusion at rest and in mild

Approximation Properties of Certain Summation Integral Type Operators
In the present paper, we study approximation properties of a family of linear positive operators and establish direct results, asymptotic formula, rate of convergence, weighted approximation theorem, inverse theorem and better approximation for this ...

Sphaleron-Like Processes in a Realistic Heat Bath
We measure the diffusion rate of Chern-Simons number in the (1+1)-dimensional Abelian Higgs model interacting with a realistic heat bath for temperatures between 1/13 and 2/3 times the sphaleron energy. It is found that the measured rate is close to that

ABSTRACT Background Chronic kidney disease is a growing public health problem worldwide, and the number of patients requiring renal replacement therapy is steadily increasing. Türkiye has experienced a similar rise in both the incidence and prevalence of renal replacement therapy over the past decades; however, national‐level projections of future ...

Approximation by (p,q) $(p,q)$-Lupaş–Schurer–Kantorovich operators
In the current paper, we examine the (p,q) $(p,q)$-analogue of Kantorovich type Lupaş–Schurer operators with the help of (p,q) $(p,q)$-Jackson integral.
