On Asymmetry of Exchange Rate Volatility in New EU Member and Candidate Countries [PDF]
In this paper, we examine the exchange rate volatility in selected new EU Member States (Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia) and candidate countries (Croatia, Romania, Turkey) using TARCH model and daily data from the period May 2004 – December ...

Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...

Theory of radar imaging using time-frequency distribution [PDF]
The concept of radar was developed for the estimation of the distance (range) and velocity of a target from a receiver. The distance measurement is obtained by\ud measuring the time taken for the transmitted signal to propagate to the target and return ...

Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Determinants of Exchange-Rate Volatility: The Case of the New EU Members [PDF]
Exchange-rate stability is not only a criterion for joining the Economic Monetary Union (EMU) but also a fundamental property of stable economic development. At present, new members of the European Union are trying to achieve this stability.

How do physiological responses such as respiratory frequency, heart rate, and galvanic skin response (GSR) change under emotional stress? [PDF]
An article that appeared in JASS, issue 2014The human body exhibits different physiological responses to stress. One of these stressful situations includes when one is made uncomfortable or is possibly being deceitful, which is the physiological ...

Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.

MODELLING THE DISCRETE AND INFREQUENT OFFICIAL INTEREST RATE CHANGE IN THE UK [PDF]
This paper is an empirical analysis of the manner in which official interest rates are determined by the Bank of England. We use a nonlinear framework that allow for the separate study of factors affecting the magnitude of positive and negative interest ...

Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated
