Rate of Penetration of Ions into Erythrocytes

Acta Physiologica Scandinavica, 1942
Summary. The red corpuscles contain much larger amounts of acid soluble phosphorus compounds than the plasma. The difference is only maintained as long as an active process, an alternative phosphorylation and dephosphorylation, takes place in the corpuscles, a process which, was studied by measuring the rate of penetration of labelled phosphorus into ...

The Influence of Penetrative Trauma on the Rate of Decomposition*

Journal of Forensic Sciences, 2010
Abstract:  An understanding of the factors affecting decomposition is important for the accurate estimation of postmortem interval. An experimental study on the influence of penetrating trauma on decomposition rate was carried out using the domestic pig, Sus scrofa.

Comparative rates of dermal penetration of insecticides in mice

Toxicology and Applied Pharmacology, 1981
Abstract Dermal penetration of 14 radiolabeled insecticides into ICR mice was studied. Permethrin penetrated most rapidly ( T 0.5 = 5.9) while malathion penetrated least rapidly ( T 0.5 = 130 min). Within 5 min after application some toxicants were in the blood, and measurable quantities of radioactivity from the majority of toxicants tested were

Water vapor penetration rate into enclosures with known air leak rates

IEEE Transactions on Electron Devices, 1978
The rate at which water vapor penetrates a faulty seal in a "hermetically sealed" device has been examined both experimentally and theoretically in this study. The experimental data was generated by studying the rate of moisture ingress into two types of packages; a TO-5 can and a 1/4 × 1/4 inch ceramic flatpak.

Rate of penetration of a fluid into a porous body

Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, 1976
Abstract The rate of penetration of a liquid hydrocarbon or an alcohol into a glass capillary is more rapid if the capillary has been outgassed, than if its surface is covered with a duplex film of the liquid. The increase in rate is as large as 10%.

Increased Rate of Penetration Through Automation

SPE/IADC Drilling Conference and Exhibition, 2011
Abstract Drilling lags behind other industries in the implementation of automation. One reason for this is the variability of drilling operations and uncertainty in knowing what is being drilled at any given time. A closed-loop system that continually monitors drilling parameters and drilling performance in real time and constantly ...

How To Improve Rate of Penetration In Field Operations

Proceedings of SPE/IADC Drilling Conference, 1996
Abstract A method has been developed that identifies which factors are controlling rate of penetration (ROP) in a particular group of bit runs. The method uses foot-based mud logging data, geological information, and drill bit characteristics, to produce numerical correlations between ROP and applied drilling parameters or other ...

Mass Customization and “Forecasting Options’ Penetration Rates Problem”

Operations Research, 2019
Summary: Auto manufacturers produce a very large number of feasible configurations that make it impossible to forecast the demand of individual configurations. What the companies do forecast is the penetration rate of each option, which is the percentage of cars that include that option.
