Achieving the Uniform Rate Region of General Multiple Access Channels by Polar Coding [PDF]
We consider the problem of polar coding for transmission over $m$-user multiple access channels. In the proposed scheme, all users encode their messages using a polar encoder, while a multi-user successive cancellation decoder is deployed at the receiver.

Convergence in West German Regional Unemployment Rates [PDF]
AbstractDifferences in regional unemployment rates are often used to describe regional economic inequality. This paper asks whether changes in regional unemployment differences in West Germany are persistent over time. Understanding the persistency of regional unemployment differences helps us to assess how effective regional policy can be.

The impact of migration on demographic growth and the birth rate in the Russian regions
The regional features of the impact of migration processes on demographic dynamics and fertility in the Russian Federation are considered in the article. There were identified four groups of regions on dynamics of total fertility rate change depending on

Achievable rate region for three user discrete broadcast channel based on coset codes [PDF]
We present an achievable rate region for the general three user discrete memoryless broadcast channel, based on nested coset codes. We characterize 3-to-1 discrete broadcast channels, a class of broadcast channels for which the best known coding ...

The Service Rate Region Polytope
We investigate the properties of a family of polytopes that naturally arise in connection with a problem in distributed data storage, namely service rate region polytopes. The service rate region of a distributed coded system describes the data access requests that the underlying system can support. In this paper, we study the polytope structure of the

Geographic features of road traffic injury in the European region
The number of accidents on the roads, and the death rate from injuries received in the accident, in Europe, much lower than the world at large. However, the problem remains acute and has significant geographical differences and peculiarities, a view ...

Two-Way Multiple Relays Channel: Achievable Rate Region and Optimal Resources
This paper considers a communication model containing two users that exchange their information with the help of multiple parallel relay nodes. To avoid interference at these common nodes, two users are required to transmit over the different frequency ...

Rate Region of the (4,3,3) Exact-Repair Regenerating Codes
Exact-repair regenerating codes are considered for the case (n,k,d)=(4,3,3), for which a complete characterization of the rate region is provided. This characterization answers in the affirmative the open question whether there exists a non-vanishing gap

Characterization of Rate Region in Interference Channels with Constrained Power
In this paper, an $n$-user Gaussian interference channel, where the power of the transmitters are subject to some upper-bounds is studied. We obtain a closed-form expression for the rate region of such a channel based on the Perron-Frobenius theorem ...
