Accumulate rateless codes for AWGN channel

2008 Third International Conference on Communications and Networking in China, 2008
We think about the problem of reliable transmission of information over AWGN channels using rateless codes. We introduce a new family of rateless codes, named the accumulate rateless (AR) codes, which is easy to construct as traditional LT codes but has better performance and lower complexity.

Exploiting Rateless Coding for Massive Access

IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, 2018
In this correspondence paper, we design a massive nonorthogonal multiple access (NOMA) scheme with delay provisioning for cellular internet-of-things. In the context of massive access, the severe interuser interference decreases the quality of the received signal, such that it is a nontrivial task to provide a delay provisioning for heterogeneous ...

Adaptive rateless coding under partial information

2008 Information Theory and Applications Workshop, 2008
We present novel rateless codes that generalize and outperform LT codes (with respect to overall communication and computation complexity) when some input symbols are already available at the decoding host. This case can occur in data synchronization scenarios, or where feedback is provided or can be inferred from transmission channel models.

Rateless Codes with Optimum Intermediate Performance

GLOBECOM 2009 - 2009 IEEE Global Telecommunications Conference, 2009
In this paper, we design several degree distributions for rateless codes with optimum intermediate packet recovery rates. In rateless coding, the employed degree distribution significantly affects the packet recovery rate. Each degree distribution is designed based on the number of message packets, k, and desired coding overhead, γ, which is the ratio ...

Redesign of BATS Code With Improved Decoding Rate Based on Coupled Batch Size and Degree Distribution

IEEE Communications Letters
Batched sparse (BATS) code is a promising technique in multi-hop transmission networks with the benefits of both network coding and rateless code. In the conventional BATS design, the batch size and degree distribution are often separately considered ...

Rateless codes from spatially coupled regular-LT codes

2015 Iran Workshop on Communication and Information Theory (IWCIT), 2015
In this paper, we study the performance of spatially coupled LT (SC-LT) codes under low-complexity belief-propagation (BP) decoding when the transmission is over a binary erasure channel (BEC). We derive a tight upper bound and lower bound on the asymptotic error probability of these rateless codes in terms of overhead and the check degree in the limit
