Video and Text‐Based Supplemental Health Information and Consumer Willingness to Pay for Nutrient‐Enhanced Eggs

open access: yesAgribusiness, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Nutritional information is very important in the food choices of consumers. However, when they are too scientific or technical, they have the potential to confuse consumers, resulting in information asymmetry and dissuading them from making beneficial choices.

Carcass and meat traits, and non-carcass components of lambs fed ration containing increasing levels of urea

open access: yesSemina: Ciências Agrárias, 2017
The objective of this study was to evaluate the carcass and meat traits, and the non-carcass components of crossbred Dorper lambs fed diets with increasing levels of urea (0.0, 0.5, 1.0, and 1.5% of dry matter – DM).

Alternatives to formulate laying hen diets beyond the traditional least-cost model

open access: yesJournal of Applied Poultry Research, 2021
Summary: Owing to the high cost of feed for poultry, there is continuous pressure to formulate ‘least-cost’ diets that meet nutritional requirements. However, the main aim of any commercial enterprise is usually to maximize profits with the resources or ...

Rational development of topical climbazole formulations

open access: yesInternational Journal of Pharmaceutics
Dandruff, or pityriasis capitis simplex, is a common scalp condition associated with excessive flaking and scaling of the epidermal tissue. Other features include irregular corneocyte turnover, irritation, itching and an impaired skin barrier function.

Design of 2D TeraHertz band-gap photonic waveguides using an accelerated integral equation technique [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
This paper describes the application of the buffered block forward backward (BBFB) method to the problem of modeling 2D terahertz (THz) photonic band gap waveguides at the frequency of 3 THz.

Inter‐microscope comparability of dental microwear texture data obtained from different optical profilometers: Part II Deriving instrument‐specific correction equations for meta‐analyses using published data

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract Dental microwear texture analysis (DMTA) has emerged as a valuable method for investigating the feeding ecology of vertebrates. Over the past decade, three‐dimensional topographic data from microscopic regions of tooth surfaces have been collected, and surface texture parameters have been published for both extant and fossil species.

Drug Formulations Should be Rational and Uniform [PDF]

open access: yesThe Indian Journal of Pediatrics, 2012
Sir, All efforts should be made to minimize human error to avoid mishap in all walks of life, and specially in medical field. Such mishaps may result in injury or even death. Positive step taken in medical science has been introduction of different colour tubings in the operating theatres like white, or black and white tubing for oxygen, blue tubing ...

Effects of Replacing Alfalfa Hay With Barley Silage in High‐Concentrate Diets: Chewing Behavior, Ruminal Fermentation, Total‐Tract Digestibility, and Milk Production of Dairy Cows in Mid‐Lactation Phase

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
We assessed lactation productivity in dairy cows when replacing alfalfa hay with barley silage. A 50% replacement increased feed intake, whereas total replacement improved nutrient conversion to milk. Barley silage can effectively replace alfalfa hay, enhancing sustainability and resilience in dairy production amid forage quality constraints and market

Comparison of Chemical Composition, In Vitro Digestibility, and Near Infrared Reflectance Spectroscopy in Estimating In Situ Rumen Degradable Protein of Tropical Foliage

open access: yesTropical Animal Science Journal, 2023
Tropical foliage is an alternative source for protein enrichment in the dairy ration. However, due to the expensive, laborious, and time-consuming data-gathering method, its degradability database for inclusion in ration formulation is still lacking ...

Traveling gravity water waves with critical layers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
We establish the existence of small-amplitude uni- and bimodal steady periodic gravity waves with an affine vorticity distribution, using a bifurcation argument that differs slightly from earlier theory.
