Yeast Gcn2 retains activity following humanization of its auto‐phosphorylation region

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Using Saccharomyces cerevisiae as a model to study Gcn2 activation and regulation is limited by the lack of antibodies detecting phosphorylated Gcn2. To overcome this, we engineered Gcn2‐HsC, a yeast Gcn2 variant recognizable by commercial anti‐human phospho‐GCN2 antibodies.

Cyclic rational transductions and polynomials of rational functions

open access: yesTheoretical Computer Science, 1990
This paper investigates several properties of rational transductions of finite image, i.e. mappings that map elements of a language \({\mathfrak L}\) to finite sets of elements of another language \({\mathfrak L}_ 1\). When X and Y are disjoint, then a transduction \(\tau\) from X to Y is rational when it is equal to \(\pi_ X^{-1}\circ \cap R\circ \pi_

MagmaFlow: A desktop platform for artificial intelligence‐driven expression analysis

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
MagmaFlow is a free, no‐code platform for gene expression analysis. It generates interactive volcano plots, links genes to literature, pathways, and diseases, prioritizes candidates using millions of publications, identifies affected biological processes, builds network diagrams, and exports publication‐ready figures and reports for macOS and Windows ...

Importin 7 mediates the nuclear import of HIV‐1 integrase via a specific interacting interface

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
HIV‐1 integrase enables viral DNA integration into the host genome. By binding to the core domain of the host protein Importin 7 via its C‐terminal domain, the integrase is transported across the nuclear membrane into the nucleus, where integration of the viral genome into host DNA takes place. This translocation is a critical step for subsequent viral

Dynamics of waveforms in the potential KdV equation incorporating time-dependent perturbation coefficient

open access: yesPhysics Open
In this study, we extend the potential Korteweg–de Vries equation by incorporating a time-dependent coefficient within its perturbation term. The refined model captures how solitary waves, such as water waves, optical signals, and photons, evolve under ...

In silico and in vitro exploration of a tyrosinase for biocatalytic production of catechols

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Tyrosinase from Ralstonia pseudosolanacearum is a promising biocatalyst for producing valuable catechols from monophenol substrates. This tyrosinase is uniquely suited to this due to its high monophenolase : diphenolase ratio. We combined in silico docking and in vivo kinetic characterisation of this tyrosinase with 11 industrially relevant monophenols,

RATIONAL EXPECTATIONS ESTIMATION OF GEORGIA SOYBEAN ACREAGE RESPONSE [PDF]

open access: yes
The general method of moments procedure is used for estimating a soybean acreage response function assuming the producers hold rational expectations. Results indicate that soybean, corn, and wheat futures prices, lagged acreage, and government programs ...

Colloidal Indium-Doped Zinc Oxide Nanocrystals with Tunable Work Function: Rational Synthesis and Optoelectronic Applications

open access: yes, 2014
Transition metal oxides are widely used in solution-processed optoelectronic devices as charge-transporting interlayers to improve contact properties and device performances. Here we show that the work function of oxide nanocrystal thin films, one of the

From patient advocacy to patient‐driven research: Building active partnerships beginning at the bench to reach the bedside

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Research is strongest when conducted alongside patients, not just about them. Patient research organizations help integrate patient perspectives into research priorities, study design, and scientific meetings, leading to meaningful patient outcomes and development of relevant therapies.

Rational expectations business cycle models: a survey [PDF]

open access: yes
Development of rational expectations models of the business cycle has been the central issue in macroeconomics over the last 15 years. The postulate that expectations are rational imposes considerable discipline on business cycle analysis.
