A Rational Solution for Megaureter in Infants with Solitary Kidney: Temporary Loop Cutaneous Ureterostomy

open access: yesJournal of Urological Surgery, 2022
Objective:To define and discuss the new concept which using loop cutaneous ureterostomy (LCU) in patients with obstructing megaureter and solitary kidney.Materials and Methods:Two patients with solitary kidney with obstructive pattern were included. Both

Circular RNA expression landscapes in myelodysplastic neoplasms: Associations with mutational signatures and disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.

Solution for Rational Systems of Difference Equations of Order Three

open access: yesMathematics, 2016
In this paper, we consider the solution and periodicity of the following systems of difference equations: x n + 1 = y n − 2 − 1 + y n − 2 x n − 1 y n , y n + 1 = x n − 2 ± 1 ± x n − 2 y n − 1 x n

Solution to the General Inner-Outer and Spectral Factorization Problems [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
In this paper we solve two open problems in linear system theory: the computation of the spectral and inner-outer factorizations of a rational matrix G in the most general setting.

Differential expression of cancer‐related genes supports prediction of poor response to first‐line treatments in T‐ALL pediatric patients with high minimal residual disease

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the present work, we have identified a transcriptional signature based on the differential expression of six genes (BCL2&MAST4, HSH2D&LAT2, METRN&PITPNM2) that would facilitate the early detection of T‐cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T‐ALL) patients prone to a poor treatment response and could be implemented at diagnosis, along with other risk ...

Hijacking emergency granulopoiesis: Neutrophil ontogeny and reprogramming in cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Neutrophils are highly plastic innate immune cells; their functions in cancer extend beyond the tumour microenvironment. This Review summarises current understanding of neutrophil maturation and heterogeneity and highlights tumour‐induced granulopoiesis as a systemic programme that expands immature, immunosuppressive neutrophils via tumour‐derived ...

On computing least order fault detectors using rational nullspace bases [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
We propose a numerically reliable computational approach to design least order fault detectors using descriptor system techniques. This approach is based on a new numerically stable algorithm to compute least order rational nullspace bases of rational ...

Loss of IGF‐1R impairs DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin leading to defective end‐joining

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
IGF‐1R promotes radioresistance by facilitating DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin, enabling non‐homologous end‐joining (NHEJ) repair of double‐strand breaks. Inhibition or loss of IGF‐1R disrupts this recruitment to damage sites, driving compensatory reliance on microhomology‐mediated end‐joining (MMEJ) repair.

Computation of rational solutions for a first-order nonlinear differential equation

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2011
In this article, we study differential equations of the form $y'=sum A_i(x)y^i/sum B_i(x)y^i$ which can be elliptic, hyperbolic, parabolic, Riccati, or quasi-linear. We show how rational solutions can be computed in a systematic manner.

MITF maintains genome stability in nonmelanocyte lineages

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
MITF is essential for melanocyte survival and acts as an oncogene in 10%–20% of melanomas. We show that MITF depletion causes genome instability in nonmelanocytic cells, leading to LATS2‐mediated P53 activation, cell cycle arrest, and apoptosis. This study highlights the role of MITF as a genome maintenance factor beyond the melanocyte lineage. Created
