Local Convexity-Preserving C2 Rational Cubic Spline for Convex Data

open access: yesThe Scientific World Journal, 2014
We present the smooth and visually pleasant display of 2D data when it is convex, which is contribution towards the improvements over existing methods. This improvement can be used to get the more accurate results.

Rational-spline approximation with automatic tension adjustment [PDF]

open access: yes
An algorithm for weighted least-squares approximation with rational splines is presented. A rational spline is a cubic function containing a distinct tension parameter for each interval defined by two consecutive knots.

Biorthogonal partners and applications [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
Two digital filters H(z) and F(z) are said to be biorthogonal partners of each other if their cascade H(z)F(z) satisfies the Nyquist or zero-crossing property.

Isogeometric B\'ezier dual mortaring: Refineable higher-order spline dual bases and weakly continuous geometry

open access: yes, 2017
In this paper we develop the isogeometric B\'ezier dual mortar method. It is based on B\'ezier extraction and projection and is applicable to any spline space which can be represented in B\'ezier form (i.e., NURBS, T-splines, LR-splines, etc.).

Association between serum bicarbonate and low mid‐upper arm circumference in patients with non‐dialysis‐dependent chronic kidney disease: A cross‐sectional study

open access: yesNutrition in Clinical Practice, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Although previous experimental studies showed that metabolic acidosis promoted muscle catabolism and impaired protein synthesis, few epidemiological studies reported an independent association between serum bicarbonate levels and muscle atrophy in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD).

The Rational Spline Interpolation Based-LOD Method and Its Application to Rotating Machinery Fault Diagnosis

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2020
Local oscillatory-characteristic decomposition (LOD) is a relatively new self-adaptive time-frequency analysis methodology. The method, based on local oscillatory characteristics of the signal itself uses three mathematical operations such as ...

Piecewise rational quadratic interpolation to monotonic data [PDF]

open access: yes, 1981
An explicit representation of a piecewise rational quadratic function is developed which produces a monotonic interpolant to given monotonic data. The explicit representation means that the piecewise monotonic interpolant is easily constructed and ...

Water Co‐Adsorption in Ultrathin Films of Ionic Liquids on Pt(111)

open access: yesChemistryOpen, EarlyView.
At 100 K, IL adsorption on D2O precovered Pt(111) partially displaces interfacial water resulting in a water‐IL co‐adsorbed layer. Upon heating to 130 K, IL ions migrate to the metal interface, thereby destabilizing adsorbed water as shown by the ≈10 K reduction in its desorption temperature.
