Validation of electrodeposited 241Am alpha-particle sources for use in liquified gas detectors at cryogenic temperatures [PDF]
This paper describes a procedure for the validation of alpha-particle sources (exempt unsealed sources) to be used in experimental setups with liquefied gases at cryogenic temperatures (down to -196 C) and high vacuum. These setups are of interest for the development and characterization of neutrino and dark matter detectors based on liquid argon ...

Targeting Tumor‐Associated Carbonic Anhydrases in Photothermal Therapy
Tumor‐associated carbonic anhydrases hCA IX and hCA XII, are overexpressed in hypoxic tumor regions and promote cancer cell survival. Targeting these enzymes enhances the efficacy of photothermal therapy (PTT), which uses NIR light for localized heat and apoptosis, representing a promising approach for cancer treatment.

Housing instability amongst takatāpui and LGBTIQ+ people in Aotearoa New Zealand
Abstract Although awareness and understanding of LGBTIQ+ people's experiences of homelessness are rising, their broader housing experiences remain under‐researched. This paper uses qualitative interview data to explore takatāpui and LGBTIQ+ people's experiences of housing instability in Aotearoa New Zealand.

Environmental Gradients in Lizard Colouration
In our study, we examined how environmental gradients influence dorsal colour variation in Lusitanian wall lizards across their range in the Iberian Peninsula. We found that lizard dorsal lightness is primarily associated with humidity, supporting Gloger's hypothesis, while body size influences dorsal lightness indirectly through Bergmann's hypothesis,

Background Characteristics of parent‐child interaction (PCI) early in life have been associated with later development in the child. Twin studies can help to disentangle child contributions to parent‐child interaction, for example, by assessing the influence of the child's genetics on his/her social environment, which includes parental behaviour ...

Effect of photoperiodicity in the pregnancy rate of isogenic rats (F344) [PDF]
O uso de animais isogênicos apresenta grandes vantagens experimentais, como uniformidade fenotípica e genotípica (reduzindo o número de animais em experimentos) e histocompatibilidade, permitindo, assim, o acúmulo de informações e a repetibilidade dos ...

Abstract The rewilding of landscapes through the promotion of natural ecological processes is a contemporary approach to nature restoration and conservation. In Nepal and elsewhere globally, forest is also regenerating naturally on abandoned agricultural land, effectively rewilding the landscape by default.
