Fully Tunable Phosphorylation of RPS6A Ensures the Successful Development of Arabidopsis Seedlings

open access: yesPlant, Cell &Environment, Volume 49, Issue 5, Page 2783-2794, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Light enhances protein translation, enabling young seedlings to rapidly and timely acquire photosynthetic capacities. Sequential phosphorylation of ribosomal protein S6 (RPS6) was implicated in the light‐enhanced translation; however, the exact phosphorylation sites and the biological relevance of RPS6 multi‐phosphorylation in seedling ...

Neurophysiological sensitivity to envelope and pulse timing interaural time differences in cochlear implanted rats with different hearing experiences

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, Volume 604, Issue 10, Page 3875-3894, 15 May 2026.
Abstract figure legend Graphical summary of our study. Rats with varying hearing experiences were bilaterally implanted with cochlear implants (CIs), and neural responses were recorded from the inferior colliculus (IC), an auditory midbrain region (left).

Distinct distributions of myosin motor conformations during contraction of slow and fast skeletal muscle

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, Volume 604, Issue 10, Page 3843-3874, 15 May 2026.
Abstract figure legend We recorded time‐resolved small‐angle X‐ray diffraction patterns from rat soleus muscles during fixed‐end twitch and tetanic contractions to investigate the structural basis of the lower fixed‐end force generated by these muscles compared with fast muscles, such as the mouse extensor digitorum longus (EDL).

Water intake regulates mucosal immunity in rat jejunal villi via IL‐1β, IL‐6, and IL‐10

open access: yesPhysiological Reports, Volume 14, Issue 9, May 2026.
Abstract We had demonstrated that the intragastric administration of distilled water increased male rat jejunal lymph flow and interleukin‐22 levels in the lymph, resulting in the promotion of innate immunity. However, there is no information concerning whether the water intake regulates mucosal immunity in the jejunum of male rats.
