One‐step generation of heritable mitochondrial DNA multiplex‐engineered rats using DddA‐derived cytosine base editor

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
We established that mixed DdCBE microinjection is an efficient, heritable, and precise strategy for generating multiplex mtDNA mutant rats. This advancement significantly expands the utility of DdCBEs for mitochondrial disease modeling, providing a robust platform for exploring the pathogenic mechanisms of complex mtDNA mutations and developing ...

The differences of glycodelin and uterus NK cell expression in obese and non-obese rats (Rattus norvegicus)

open access: yesMajalah Obstetri dan Ginekologi, 2021
HIGHLIGHTS 1. Obesity increases the risk of comorbidities especially for the pregnancy. 2. The study analyzed glycodelin levels and uterine NK cell expression using Rattus norvegicus as animal model. 3.

Transcriptomic validation of a 7,12 Dimethylbenz(a)anthracene (DMBA)‐induced leukemia rat model: Parallels with human leukemogenesis

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
7,12‐Dimethylbenz[a]anthracene (DMBA) could induce leukemia and other types of cancers in rat models. Transcriptomics revealed gene expression profile that parallels with human leukemia. DMBA‐induced differential gene expression could validate the developed rat model.

Diet and coexistence of Rattus rattus rattus (Linnaeus), Rattus exulans (Peale) and Rattus norvegicus (Berkenhout) on Stewart Island, New Zealand : a thesis presented in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Science in Zoology [PDF]

open access: yes, 1988
Coexistence and diet of Rattus rattus rattus, Rattus exulans and, Rattus norvegicus on Stewart Island was investigated by snap-trapping and stomach analysis. The trapping period was from June 1982 to December 1986.

Tooth eruption status and bite force determine dental microwear texture gradients in albino rats (Rattus norvegicus forma domestica)

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract Dental microwear texture analysis (DMTA) is widely applied for inferring diet in vertebrates. Besides diet and ingesta properties, factors like wear stage and bite force may affect microwear formation, potentially leading to tooth position‐specific microwear patterns.
