Si Isotope Fractionation in Metamorphic Rocks From Cryogenic Temperature Crystallographic Data and Quantum Phonon Model

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Solid Earth, Volume 131, Issue 2, February 2026.
Abstract In this study, we demonstrate that it is possible to fit the resilience at the high temperature limit using only the atomic mean square displacement determined from cryogenic temperature single crystal diffraction data. Our method introduces the Debye phonon model, under which the atomic mean square displacement displays quantum behavior at ...

Three‐dimensional gravity current interactions with oblique slopes: Deflection, reflection and combined‐flow behaviours

open access: yesSedimentology, Volume 72, Issue 7, Page 2121-2159, December 2025.
ABSTRACT Gravity currents interacting with planar slopes have been thought to always ‘reflect’ a component of flow orthogonal to the slope irrespective of the flow incidence angle. Incoming flows are argued to undergo gravitational collapse, and generate internal waves, that propagate perpendicular to the bounding slope.

Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde: How Different Ecosystem (Dis)Services Perspectives Alter Management Decisions of a Native Invasive Encroachment

open access: yesNatural Resource Modeling, Volume 38, Issue 4, November 2025.
ABSTRACT As a consequence of climate change, the encroachment of the native species Empetrum nigrum (crowberry) is exerting multifaceted effects on the Arctic socio‐ecological system in Norway. The native invader detrimentally affects the quality of the reindeer grazing land, yet is beneficial for carbon sequestration, that is, providing both ecosystem

Zircon (Re)crystallization During Metamorphism: Zircon Paragenesis in the Papua New Guinea Coesite Eclogite Revisited

open access: yesJournal of Metamorphic Geology, Volume 43, Issue 7, Page 663-680, September 2025.
ABSTRACT The youngest known ultrahigh‐pressure (UHP) eclogite from Tumagabuna Island, a small island of the D'Entrecasteaux Islands chain in Papua New Guinea, exhibits zircon U–Pb age variations spanning a few million years. This age variation complicates the interpretation of the evolution of this high and ultrahigh‐pressure ([U]HP) terrane.
