A Study on Physical Layer Security Through Ray Tracing Simulations

2022 16th European Conference on Antennas and Propagation (EuCAP), 2022
Due to its broadcast nature, the wireless channel cannot be really private, i.e. restricted to the intended users only. Rather, it can always be available also to some unauthorized outsider, and, thus, security in wireless communications is crucial.

Comparison of ray traced based models with Physical Optic model

2016 URSI International Symposium on Electromagnetic Theory (EMTS), 2016
Electromagnetic wave propagation in free space is an excessively simplified situation. Hence, the vital question is how an electromagnetic wave propagates in ambient including obstructions like mountains, trees, hills or buildings. These obstructions reflect, diffract and scatter the electromagnetic waves.

Implementation and Hybridization of Physical Optics, Born Approximation, and Ray Tracing

2018 International Workshop on Computing, Electromagnetics, and Machine Intelligence (CEMi), 2018
The frequency domain simulation of the scattering behavior of electrically large homogeneous dielectric objects, especially in the context of inverse scattering, is a challenging task well suited for the application of the method of physical optics. In this paper we propose the hybridization of the method of physical optics, the Born-approximation and ...

Physical statistical modelling of the land mobile satellite channel based on ray tracing

IEE Proceedings - Microwaves, Antennas and Propagation, 1999
The paper presents a model of the land mobile satellite channel, predicting the statistical fade distribution in a given urban or suburban area described by objective data. The channel modelling is based on a conditional Rician distribution, whose parameters are related to physical parameters such as building height, street width, azimuth and elevation

Analysis of FSS Radomes Based on Physical Optics Method and Ray Tracing Technique

IEEE Antennas and Wireless Propagation Letters, 2014
In this letter, we analyze the electromagnetic characteristic of a frequency selective surface (FSS) radome using the physical optics (PO) method and ray tracing technique. We consider the cross-loop slot FSS and the tangent-ogive radome. Radiation pattern of the FSS radome is computed to illustrate the electromagnetic transmission characteristic.

Large Scale Satellite Imagery Simulations with Physically Based Ray Tracing on Tianhe-1A Supercomputer

2013 IEEE 10th International Conference on High Performance Computing and Communications & 2013 IEEE International Conference on Embedded and Ubiquitous Computing, 2013
Developing highly scalable algorithms for satellite imagery simulations is becoming increasingly important as scientists inquire to understand the mechanism of satellite imagery before satellites are launched into orbit. Although physically based ray tracing technique for image rendering has produced some of the most realistic images to date, studies ...
