Analysis of FSS Radomes Based on Physical Optics Method and Ray Tracing Technique

IEEE Antennas and Wireless Propagation Letters, 2014
In this letter, we analyze the electromagnetic characteristic of a frequency selective surface (FSS) radome using the physical optics (PO) method and ray tracing technique. We consider the cross-loop slot FSS and the tangent-ogive radome. Radiation pattern of the FSS radome is computed to illustrate the electromagnetic transmission characteristic.

Large Scale Satellite Imagery Simulations with Physically Based Ray Tracing on Tianhe-1A Supercomputer

2013 IEEE 10th International Conference on High Performance Computing and Communications & 2013 IEEE International Conference on Embedded and Ubiquitous Computing, 2013
Developing highly scalable algorithms for satellite imagery simulations is becoming increasingly important as scientists inquire to understand the mechanism of satellite imagery before satellites are launched into orbit. Although physically based ray tracing technique for image rendering has produced some of the most realistic images to date, studies ...

From broadband ray tracing propagation modeling to physical layer simulations of THz indoor communication systems

2013 IEEE Radio and Wireless Symposium, 2013
Allowing for the conception of future THz indoor communication systems, a simulation environment combining an accurate ray tracing propagation model as well as a physical layer simulator is introduced. Frequency domain ray tracing is demonstrated for a wireless LAN setup in an indoor environment at frequencies from 300 to 350 GHz.

Accurate Simulation of Wireless Vehicular Networks Based on Ray Tracing and Physical Layer Simulation

2012
Vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) and vehicle-to-roadside (V2R) communications is required for numerous applications that aim at improving traffic safety and traffic efficiency. As recent studies have shown, communications in this context is significantly influenced by radio propagation characteristics of the environment and the signal processing algorithms ...

Low Grazing Angle Sea Clutter modelled by Ray Tracing and Physical Optics

2000
In this project we study radar scattering from the sea surface in a number of ways. We generate 3D realisations of the sea surface and models of breaking waves. These objecs are put in CAD format. A ray tracing algorithm is used to calculate the illumination of the object and the local incidence angle of the radiation. Based on these results a physical
