Hexagonal Cell Formation in Darcy–Bénard Convection with Viscous Dissipation and Form Drag
Recent interest in the effects of viscous dissipation on convective flows in porous media has centred almost exclusively on forced convection flows. In this paper, we investigate the manner in which it affects the onset and early stages of convection in ...

Numerical analysis of Poiseuille-Rayleigh-Bénard convection in supercritical carbon dioxide
The supercritical carbon dioxide (S–CO2) Brayton cycle is an important energy conversion technology for the fourth generation of nuclear energy. Since the printed circuit heat exchanger (PCHE) used in the S–CO2 Brayton cycle has narrow channels, Rayleigh-

Study of heat and mass transport in Couple-Stress liquid under G-jitter effect
In the present paper, we deal with the effect of G-jitter (time periodic gravity modulation) on the stability of double diffusive convection in couple stress liquid by method of non-linear analysis. The infinitesimal disturbances are expanded in terms of

Incompressible flows and the Boussinesq approximation: 50 years of CFD
We offer a synthetic exposition on the state of the art for Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) relevant to the Navier–Stokes equations with the Boussinesq approximation, smoothly blending a history of the field with an accessible exposition of the ...

Surface deflection in Rayleigh-Benard convection
The problem of the deformation of a free upper surface in a convective layer subjected to an adverse temperature gradient is analyzed. An analytical expression for the amplitude of the surface deflection in terms of the fluid layer parameters has been obtained when buoyancy force is the responsible mechanism for instability (thick layers).
