Free Vibration Analysis of Size-Dependent, Functionally Graded, Rectangular Nano/Micro-plates based on Modified Nonlinear Couple Stress Shear Deformation Plate Theories [PDF]
In the present study, a vibration analysis of functionally graded rectangular nano-/microplates was considered based on modified nonlinear coupled stress exponential and trigonometric shear deformation plate theories.

This paper presents a degeneracy‐aware light detection and ranging (LiDAR)‐inertial framework that enhances LiDAR simultaneous localization and mapping performance in challenging environments. The proposed system integrates a dual‐layer robust odometry frontend with a Scan‐Context‐based loop‐closure detection backend.

On the Rayleigh-Ritz variational method
We give a simple proof of the well known fact that the approximate eigenvalues provided by the Rayleigh-Ritz variational method are increasingly accurate upper bounds to the exact ones. To this end, we resort to the variational principle, mentioned in most textbooks on quantum chemistry, and to a well known set of projection operators.

Free Vibrations of Anisotropic Nano-Objects with Rounded or Sharp Corners
An extension of the Rayleigh–Ritz variational method to objects with superquadric and superellipsoid shapes and cylinders with cross-sections delimited by a superellipse is presented.

Parallel eigensolvers in plane-wave Density Functional Theory [PDF]
We consider the problem of parallelizing electronic structure computations in plane-wave Density Functional Theory. Because of the limited scalability of Fourier transforms, parallelism has to be found at the eigensolver level.

Recurrence Relations in the Rayleigh-Ritz Method [PDF]
We report a novel approach for finding upper-bounds for energy levels in quantum systems. This method uses the Rayleigh-Ritz method in conjunction with an expansion series solution of the Schrodinger equation. In the traditional Rayleigh-Ritz method, a N × N matrix is diagonalized to find the N coefficients of a N -term series expansion solution.

This study develops a superconvergent meshless method to analyze and control vibrations in twisted, bidirectional functionally graded Terfenol‐D beams. By optimizing magnetostrictive patch placement, it demonstrates effective vibration suppression under dynamic loads, highlighting the design potential of strategically graded materials in complex ...
