Anisotropy and feedthrough in magneto-Rayleigh-Taylor instability

open access: yesPhysical Review E, 2011
The magneto-Rayleigh-Taylor instability (MRT) of a finite slab is studied analytically using the ideal MHD model. The slab may be accelerated by an arbitrary combination of magnetic pressure and fluid pressure, thus allowing an arbitrary degree of anisotropy intrinsic to the acceleration mechanism.

Linear Rayleigh-Taylor instability and Spread-F time behaviour in Tucumán, Argentina

open access: yesGeofísica Internacional, 1997
The role of the zonal neutral wind (U) and the gradient scale length (L) is studied as contributions to the linear Rayleigh-Taylor instability growth rate, in order to account for the temporal behaviour of F layer irregularities as detected in Tucumán ...

The effects of a horizontal magnetic field on the Rayleigh–Taylor instability

open access: yesNuclear Materials and Energy, 2019
The stability of a thin conductive liquid film flowing along a solid wall is an important problem that occurs in many proposed fusion device designs. In this paper we investigate the linear stability of an electrically conductive liquid film of finite ...

Linear Rayleigh-Taylor instability and Spread-F time behaviour in Tucuman, Argentina

Time-Implicit Hydrodynamics for Euler Flows*

open access: yesESAIM: Proceedings and Surveys, 2014
We consider the Euler equations with gravity source terms, and derive a time-implicit resolution scheme from the explicit one developed by Vides et al. [8].
