Superfluid Rayleigh criterion

Physical Review B, 1995
The stability of the flow of superfluid helium II between two corotating cylinders is investigated. The result is compared with the corresponding classical flow of helium I. The validity of Rayleigh`s stability criterion and the relation between a superfluid and a classical inviscid fluid are discussed.

Discrete Rayleigh Distribution

IEEE Transactions on Reliability, 2004
Using a general approach for discretization of continuous life distributions in the univariate & bivariate situations, we have proposed a discrete Rayleigh distribution. This distribution has been examined in detail with respect to two measures of failure rate.

Comparison of quasi-Rayleigh waves and Rayleigh waves, and clarifying the cut-off frequency of quasi-Rayleigh waves

Ultrasonics, 2019
The Partial Wave Method is unique in that it establishes a foundation on which various elastodynamic guided waves can be compared. In this paper, the method is used to compare quasi-Rayleigh waves and Rayleigh waves, and investigate the eccentricities of the Partial Wave Method at phase velocities equal to the Rayleigh wave speed.

The Generalized Rayleigh Quotient

Canadian Mathematical Bulletin, 1974
In this paper we generalize the concept of the Rayleigh quotient to a complex Banach space. Lord Rayleigh investigated the quotient(1)considered as a function of the components of q, in the case of a symmetric matrix pencil Aλ+C with A positive definite.
