In-Flight Calibration of GF-1/WFV Visible Channels Using Rayleigh Scattering
China is planning to launch more and more optical remote-sensing satellites with high spatial resolution and multistep gains. Field calibration, the current operational method of satellite in-flight radiometric calibration, still does not have enough ...

Soft-decision COVQ for Rayleigh-fading channels [PDF]
A channel-optimized vector quantizer (COVQ) scheme that exploits the channel soft-decision information is proposed. The scheme is designed for stationary memoryless Gaussian and Gauss-Markov sources transmitted over BPSK-modulated Rayleigh-fading channels. It is demonstrated that substantial coding gains of 2-3 dB in channel signal-to-noise ratio (SNR)

Phase Engineering of Atomically Precise Nanoclusters (APNCs) of Gold and Beyond
Engineering the structural phase of materials is of paramount importance for both fundamental research and practical applications. In this Review, we summarize the recent progress in controlling the phases of atomically precise nanoclusters (APNCs) of gold, silver and copper, as well as bimetallic systems. The phase‐enabled material properties of APNCs

LDPC concatenated space-time block coded system in multipath fading environment: Analysis and evaluation [PDF]
Irregular low-density parity-check (LDPC) codes have been found to show exceptionally good performance for single antenna systems over a wide class of channels. In this paper, the performance of LDPC codes with multiple antenna systems is investigated in

Plasmonic Nanomachines: Creating Local Potential Gradients and Motions
Plasmonic nanomachines can generate optical, thermal, and chemical potential gradients to drive directional rectilinear, rotational, and twisting motions at the nanometer scale. The integration of multimodal plasmonic forces with functional materials and programmed structural distortions enables precise spatiotemporal actuation, thereby providing a ...

Sensing-Assisted Secure Communications over Correlated Rayleigh Fading Channels
We consider a secure integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) scenario, where a signal is transmitted through a state-dependent wiretap channel with one legitimate receiver with which the transmitter communicates and one honest-but-curious target that
