Spectrum evolution of Rayleigh backscattering in one-dimensional waveguide

open access: yesOpto-Electronic Advances, 2019
Despite the tremendous awareness of Rayleigh scattering characteristics and its considerable research interest for numerous fields, no report has been documented on the dynamic characteristics of spectrum evolution (SpE) and physical law for Rayleigh ...

Xanthene based resonance Rayleigh scattering and spectrofluorimetric probes for the determination of cyclobenzaprine: Application to content uniformity test

open access: yesReviews in Analytical Chemistry, 2020
In this work, a resonance Rayleigh scattering technique and a spectrofluorimetric technique were applied to the quantification of cyclobenzaprine through two validated methods.

On Theoretical Accuracy of Meteorological Targets Measurement by Radar [PDF]

open access: yesRadioengineering, 2022
We draw your attention to the fact that meteorological radar does not actually measure a commonly used quantity “radar reflectivity factor,” (which is not dependent on frequency) but a different quantity called “radar reflectivity.” We present the usual ...

Polarization transfer in Rayleigh scattering of hard x-rays

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2016
We report on the first elastic hard x-ray scattering experiment where the linear polarization characteristics of both the incident and the scattered radiation were observed. Rayleigh scattering was investigated in a relativistic regime by using a high- Z

Quantum theory of Rayleigh scattering

open access: yesOptics Express, 2021
We suggest a quantum description of Rayleigh light scattering on atoms. We show that an entangled state of the excited atom and the incident photon is formed during the scattering. Due to entanglement, a photon is never completely absorbed by the atom.

Measurement of Temperature-Dependent Bulk Viscosities of Nitrogen, Oxygen and Air From Spontaneous Rayleigh-Brillouin Scattering

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
In this paper, the spontaneous Rayleigh-Brillouin scattering spectra of air are simulated to study the effect of uncertainties of pressure, temperature, scattering angle and the characteristic parameter uncertainty of the Fabry-Perot interferometer on ...

Theoretical analysis of backscattering in hollow-core antiresonant fibers

open access: yesAPL Photonics, 2021
We present a theoretical analysis into the fundamental physical mechanisms contributing to backscattering in hollow-core antiresonant fibers. We consider Rayleigh scattering originating from the hollow regions of the fiber, which may be filled with gases,

A Fast Single-Image Dehazing Algorithm Based on Dark Channel Prior and Rayleigh Scattering

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
The scattering of atmospheric particles significantly alters images captured under hazy weather condition. Images appear distorted, blurry and low in contrast attenuation, which extensively affects computer vision systems.

Cavity-enhanced Rayleigh scattering [PDF]

open access: yesCLEO/Europe - EQEC 2009 - European Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics and the European Quantum Electronics Conference, 2009
We demonstrate Purcell-like enhancement of Rayleigh scattering into a single optical mode of a Fabry-Perot resonator for several thermal atomic and molecular gases. The light is detuned by more than an octave, in this case by hundreds of nanometers, from any optical transition, making particle excitation and spontaneous emission negligible.
